Another really good weekend.. and 26 deg all weekend made it even better!
On Sat took myself off to Sutton Hoo – which is about 75 miles from my house (or about 80mins drive) – where (they think) King Raewald of Anglia was buried in 635-ish AD. He was buried with a fortune in grave goods, including a gold belt buckle that weighs over 1/2 a kilo, 24 silver platter and swords galore. He ws also buried in his 25meter ship!! Had a really good day..
Go here for a look at the site: http://www.suttonhoo.org/

And if you go here: http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/compass/ixbin/goto?id=OBJ3920 and do a search for Sutton Hoo you’ll see all the stuff they found in the mound!
Caught some sun on Sat through all the walking around.. Typical – I get a tan after summer’s officially over!
Sat night went round to Sarah’s house for an evening of cheesy fondue, drinking, laughing and solving the world’s problems :) And for 3 years she’s been promising me olleboller – some strange Dutch (her husband is Dutch) pastry thingy that she makes & talks about and keeps promising me a taste of! She finally bought a few in for me – like a donut but with custardy-raisiny thingy in the middle – quite yummy really!
Sunday dawned sunny and beautiful again. Did some cleaning & tidying before watching end of West Wing series 6, followed by the Italian F1 Grand Prix. Schumacher’s retiring!! YAY – someone else will have a chance to win some races! :)
Miguel & Begonia over for dinner Sun night – did my roast chicken, which turned out so buttery & so tender it was a drama to cut cause it fell off the bone! Delish! :) Also watched Kung Fu Hustle, very strange movie – but very cool. No idea what was going on half the time, but it looked great, and I loved the dance sequence!
Work today, another new starter taking team count to 36. More people means more work for me. Oh well.
11 days till Mum & John arrive!!!
