10 days over….

So!  I’ve just spent 4 days wandering the streets of Paris with my parents – which was interesting, to say the least!  But I’ll fill you in on the weekend first…

Sat 23 – Mum’s birfdy!  We went to Saffron Walden briefly, but there was nowhere (and I mean NOWHERE!!) to park, so we got out and went to Cambridge instead.  I love Park & Ride!!  Wandered around the back streets of Cambridge for a few hours, picked up a B&B book thingy from Waterstones, had a lovely lunch at Henry’s down on the River Cam and laughed at all the people trying to punt!  Did the bus-tour thingy in the afternoon, that blew John’s comb-over all over the place HeeHee! :)  Mum had a good day.

Sun 24 – Duxford Air Museum – unfortunately we were invaded by Bus Enthusiasts!  We didn’t check but apparently they have one big outing a year, ShowBus, which this year was held at Duxford on Sun 24, so we were surrounded by old double-decker busses and bus-spotters noting down licence plate numbers etc.  I tell ya, they’re an odd bunch these bus-spotters!!  Only in Britain….  But got speaking to a mechanic in one of the old hangers where they’re doing the planes up.  Apparently the whole collection in Hangar 2 is owned by one Welsh guy who’s got nothing else to spend his money on!  Mum & John got a kick out of it, and it was a good day….

Mon 25 – Saffron Walden to pickup a few things for the France trip – I was starting to get a bit frustrated with Mum..  We usually have a fight within a few days, and it looked like this trip was no exception.  She’s really getting scatty – and keeps asking me the same questions over & over..  She doesn’t look where she’s going, and then get’s angry at John when he tries to help her avoid being hit by traffic or walking into things…   it’s a bit difficult – but I’m working out how to handle it..

I’ll continue this in a bit…
