Blogging – 60million people can’t be wrong!

Internet.  Who would’ve thunk that a wee network invention from Sir Tim Berners-Lee would end up with such global domination…

And blogging?  It’s become a phenomenon!  (do do – do do do :)  You can scroll through millions upon millions of pages (over 60million at last count), from people all over the world, sharing the minutae of their lives, their thoughts and their beefs..  You can listen to and view music from brand new bands (the Artic Monkeys craze started online).  You can donate to charity, (Adopt-A-Sheep http://www.adoptasheep.blogspot.com/), commit to climate change and see just how the planet ‘breathes’ (http://www.breathingearth.net/), find old friends, make new friends all over the world, and a gazillion other things as well…

And the blogging phenomenon (I love typing that word :) hasn’t gone un-noticed.  More people read blogs every day than newspapers.  More people now surf the net every day than watch TV.

Recently Google bought YouTube.com.  YouTube is where you can post your own view, cartoon, skit, short film, joke, whatever you like, for free to be seen by millions of people worldwide.  You Tube has been running for just over a year.  Google corp paid approx USD$1.8 billion to buy it.

Also, Rupert Murdoch and NewsCorp have bought myspace.com – recognising that self-published internet is a craze that’s not going to die anytime soon.

With the internet in more homes worldwide than ever before, it’s released the creative juices of an enormous number of people (myself included).  This can only get bigger, and can only get better.

Just remember – not everything you read is the TRUTH!   Scepticism is not a crime.  It would be very very dangerous to believe everything you read online.
