Long Way Down

I’m a big big fan of Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman’s epic motorbike adventure “Long Way Round“, where they take a trip from London to New York overland, via Europe, Russia, Khazakstan, Mongolia, Alaska and the USA. 20,000 miles in some of the toughest terrain a bike can handle. I’ve got the DVD’s and I love watching them. Damn inspirational adventuring.

Now the boys have just started off on their next adventure, John O’Groats to Capetown or “Long Way Down”. John O’Groats, for those that don’t know, is the northernmost point in mainland Britain. So they’re basically travelling down a line of longitude… They started on Monday 14 May and there are route maps and blogs being posted.

They are filming the adventure, of course, and it will be shown later this year on the BBC! YAAYYY!

So go to the BBC’s Long Way Down site for blogs and videos or to the official Long Way Down site (which doesn’t seem to be working yet!). I can’t wait to see the series.
