kulcha tursdy: Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes was a black poet from Missouri born in 1902, died (on my birthday!) in 1967.

This one touched me today.

Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
